A little serious of our mind:

Try to imagine, that your grandchildren can´t speak with you in your language......

Learn your family the language of the roots, so your family - children can speak their language from childhood!

Learn your family the culture of the roots, so your family understand and respect the roots e.g. Mano Po!

History of the Pedicab

The Padyak or pedicab (Bisaya: traysikad or sikad) is a manually-powered form of transportation in the Philippines, usually for short distances. It is made up of a bicycle attached to a sidecar and has a capacity of two to three passengers. Pedicabs commonly operate in subdivisions or urban communities. "Padyak" and "sikad" literally mean "to pedal".

Several months after the start a major electric vehicle initiative, a prototype of the winning electric tricycle (e-trike) design was unveiled by the Department of Energy (DOE) and the Asian Development Bank (ADB).

A Philippine pedicab is called a trisikad, pedikab, padyak among others.

This used to be the most common public transportation means in villages and small towns in rural Philippines… the manpowered tricycle!

Tourism seems to be gradually shifting the function of bikes from being a logistic need to a sort of choreographed F1 show the racing event which takes place in Imbayah, their festival. While so, tourism plays the important role of continuing the relevance of these wooden bikes for the Ifugao people, and in the part of the observers, having us realize the magnitude and depth of the different cultures outside of our urban backyards. – Paolo Abellanosa

Video

Video: Life on the line

In the chaos of Manilas choked roads, a hair-rising mode of transport has evolved: trolley cars that speed through the citys rail tracks, evading frequent trains and the prying eyes of the police.

No traffic, laughs Henarco, pushing a parasol-shaded trolley along a railway track at great speed. Hes been running these rails for 18 years, and at half the price of public transport and a fraction of the travel time, business is booming. But we have enemies, Henarco says, referring to the high-speed trains, which come every 15 minutes, when someone hears the hoot we just jump off! The trains arent the only enemies for the community of trolley drivers who live and work here. They also face periodic raids by the railway police. Dinner, lunch, everything on this trolley, says Henarco, who was relocated from a shanty town around these tracks, which was demolished by the rail authorities 2 years ago. - Just play, the black screen is just the start
